Add Activities, Notes, Bookmarks, or Files

  • You can create Activities in CRM to record sales activities.  
  • Use Notes to jot down points of discussion during customer meetings.  
  • Add Bookmarks or attach Files such as contracts or datasheets. 

Activities 

Activities are actions such as emails, phone calls, meetings, or appointments. Using activities helps you and your organization understand all the communication your organization has had with each account or lead. Activities should be used by every user that has external relationships and communications. 

To create an activity against an Opportunity: 

  1. Click on the Create button on the View Opportunity -> Activities tab ->  
  2. A pop-up will be displayed, to select the type of activity – Task, Appointment, Email, or Phone Call. 
  3. On selecting the activity type, a new form will be opened for creating a new activity of the selected type. The Party and the Activity Primary Contact will be pre-populated based on the Party to which the Opportunity is associated. The Owner field will be populated with the name of the user creating the Activity. 
  4. Fill up the mandatory fields and click Save. 
  5. An Activity tagged to the Opportunity is created.  
  6. Activities can be filtered as per activity status (Open, Completed, All) 
  7. All open activities are displaying under the view screen in the badges 

Notes 

Use Notes to jot down points of discussion during customer meetings. 

  1. Click on the ‘Create Note’ button on the View Opportunity -> Notes tab. 
  2. In the popup displayed, enter a Note Title and Description. There is an additional option to mark a note as important. Once done, click Save. 
  3. Once the important note is created then in the view screen it shows the badges counts  
  4. A new note attached to the Opportunity is created. 

Bookmarks and Files 

Bookmark URLs or attach Files such as contracts or datasheets. 

Bookmark URL: 

  1. To bookmark a URL, click on the ‘Bookmark URL’ button on the View Opportunity -> Bookmarks and Files tab. 
  2. A popup will be displayed, where the URL can be entered. Optionally, a Classification (document type) and Description can also be entered. 
  3. Click Save. 
  4. The URL is saved and displayed on the grid. 

Attach Files 

  1. To attach a file, click on the ‘Add Attachment’ button on the View Opportunity -> Bookmarks and Files tab. 
  2. A popup will be displayed, with a file uploader where a file can be attached. Optionally, a Classification (document type) and Description can also be entered. 
  3. Click Save. 
  4. The attachment is uploaded, and the attachment name is displayed on the grid.  
  5. Click on   to download the attachment
